Send Me a Care Package from the UK!

I just returned from England late Saturday and the last thing I usually comment about is food…I mean, I like food (who doesn't?) but at 5'5" and 115lbs, I'm not what you'd call a foodie.  And Britain isn't known for their haute cuisine, either.

Being a lifelong tea drinker (no coffee, plz!) I was completely charmed by their 'Sweet Cream Tea' which is a pot of tea, a scone with sultanas accompanied by clotted cream and fruit jam. I was told that I favour 'builder's tea' because I like it strong and sweet.
By the time I'd sampled Treacle pudding with Bird's custard sauce I was completely won over. (Did I mention I have a sweet tooth?) No, I didn't have the chance to try the Spotted Dick (and it's not an STD). Their biscuits are far superior to ours.  I even loved the bangers (sausages). Yes, me, who probably hasn't eaten a greasy American sausage in the past decade, actually sampled a 'full English Breakfast' as well as the classic 'Fish and Chips' with mushy peas. I did pass on the 'blood pudding' but had a small taste of it…pretty decent, but I couldn't get past the name, blood being one of the ingredients.

So my care package list is as follows:
• Yorkshire brand  Tea
• scones, clotted cream
• biscuits, especially custard creams
• Treacle
• Bird's custard sauce
• Bangers and British bacon
• and of course, mushy peas

Invite me to tea across the pond. I'll be right over  -
remember, strong and sweet…suits me nicely whether it's food or anything else, hehe.
Oh, one last thing… do check the box to be certain there are no house spiders in it!

NOTE: Please help my incredible artist friends :iconvalentina-remenar: if you can! Their family was hit by an awful flood recently and have no place to stay, and are looking for an apartment to rent in Slovenia. Please visit their journal for details!

Elite Artists, a group I'm proud to be a Moderator for, is running a contest with EMOTIONS as the theme, great prizes, check it out here :iconeliteartists: all media accepted

Haha...the British food. Everybody told us, "oh my, you can't eat the food in Britain!" And I was like, "oh, shit, I'm always hungry, I'll need something to eat!" and really was afraid the food would be as bad as everybody said...but nope. Actually, it was good. But - be glad that you don't like coffee. I'm the person that only can leave the house (normally) with a cup of coffee in the system, but the coffee in London was not good...

I love Black tea with milk! When I was in Ireland with school some years ago, the host family only had black tea. At first I tried to drink it with sugar, but it only made the taste worse and then I was brave enough to try the tea with milk and it was delicious! I'm drinking one right now...
